Manchester United have reportedly agreed a transfer deal just days after sacking Ruben Amorim.
On Monday morning, Amorim's 14-month tenure as United boss came to an abrupt end.
A statement posted on the club's official website read: "Ruben Amorim has departed his role as Head Coach of Manchester United.
"With Manchester United sitting sixth in the Premier League, the club's leadership has reluctantly made the decision that it is the right time to make a change. This will give the team the best opportunity of the highest possible Premier League finish. The club would like to thank Ruben for his contribution to the club and wishes him well for the future."

Ex-player Darren Fletcher has been put in temporary charge as United take on Burnley at Turf Moor on Wednesday night.

Just two days after Amorim's sacking, it has been claimed that United could be about to sanction their first transfer of the January window.
According to Manchester Evening News, youngster Sam Mather is set to leave Old Trafford for Turkish Super Lig side Kayserispor for an undisclosed fee.
It has been reported that Mather, 21, was close to joining Kayserispor during the summer window, but the move fell through.
Back in September, it was believed that talks were at an 'advanced stage' with Mather agreeing personal terms with the club but the move failed to materialise due to a lack of time.
The report stated that the young winger will now travel to Turkey to complete his move.

Although he has a contract with United until 2027, Mather is said to be keen to kick start his professional career after outgrowing academy football and sees a move abroad as a fresh challenge.
During his time with the Red Devils, Mather won the FA Youth Cup and scored 30 times in youth league fixtures. He has also trained with the first team on several occasions.
