Kobbie Mainoo’s value has risen by 4275 per cent since last summer, the second most of any English player in that time.

On Tuesday, Mainoo made his first start for England in a 2-2 draw against Belgium, just four months after having started for Manchester United for the first time.

Indeed, the teenager’s rise has been nothing short of extraordinary, with Mainoo even picking up the Player of the Match award for his performance against Domenico Tedesco’s side.

After the game, Southgate said: "Kobbie's attributes are there for everyone to see. The ability to receive under pressure and ride challenges, to manipulate the ball in tight areas.

"We were a little bit more open, there's no doubt about that. We wanted to press aggressively, and there were times we turned the ball over on the edge of their box when we had chances we should have taken.

"We had problems in other ways with their players pulling wide and leaving [Romelu] Lukaku one-on-one. He gives us a different profile in midfield to anything we've got, he's adapted and adjusted brilliantly.

"You can't believe his age really, that he's taken everything in his stride as he has."

As per Transfermarkt, Mainoo’s form across the past four months has seen his value rise by 4275 per cent to £30million. That’s a £29.3million difference from the start of the season.

Only one English player has had a steeper rise in their transfer value in that period - Leeds United midfielder Archie Gray.

Gray, who only turned 18 this month, has made 41 senior appearances for promotion-chasing Leeds this season, while he was pushed further into the spotlight last week by netting a debut goal for England’s under-21s.

According to Transfermarkt, Gray has seen his value skyrocket by 7900 per cent this term to £13.72miliion. That’s an increase of £13.55million.
