Jadon Sancho has 'paid off' his Borussia Dortmund loan fee in one swoop following their victory over PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League.

Sancho starred as Dortmund beat PSV 2-0 (3-0 on aggregate) in their quarter-final second leg tie on Wednesday.

He opened the scoring in the third minute with a tidy finish from outside the box.

Marco Reus added a second in stoppage time to seal passage to the next round of the competition.

Sancho's goal and Dortmund's win against PSV could see Manchester United miss out on Champions League qualification.

What's more, the Man United loanee effectively 'paid off' his loan fee for the season in Dortmund's victory over PSV.

The German outfit splashed out £3.4 million to acquire his services.

According to Football Transfers, Dortmund earned £9 million for securing their spot in the Champions League last eight - more than double his loan fee.

Sancho, who rejoined Dortmund in January, could earn more coefficient points for Germany this season at the expense of England, which could see his parent club miss out on a place in Europe's premier competition.

After the match, he said: "Coming into the game, we knew it was going to be tough but we always had the advantage because we were in front of our home fans.

"From the first whistle to the last, we stuck at our game plan and I'm just happy we got the win."

The 23-year-old added: "I'm just grateful that I got the goal for the team. I've always got a special place for Borussia Dortmund, this is where I kind of made my name so I've got to be grateful to them but also to my team-mates for believing in me."

Sancho has played 10 games in all competitions for Dortmund since his loan move, scoring two goals.
