Harry Maguire has become the first Manchester United player to react to Ruben Amorim's sacking.
On Monday morning, Amorim's turbulent tenure as United's head coach came to an abrupt end.
A statement from the club read: "Ruben Amorim has departed his role as Head Coach of Manchester United. With Manchester United sitting sixth in the Premier League, the club's leadership has reluctantly made the decision that it is the right time to make a change. This will give the team the best opportunity of the highest possible Premier League finish.
"The club would like to thank Ruben for his contribution to the club and wishes him well for the future."

Now, defender Maguire has become the first player to speak out on Amorim's departure.
Taking to social media, the Englishman posted a picture of him with Amorim, with a caption that read: "Thank you for everthing boss. I wish you all the best in the future."
Amorim's last match in charge was Sunday afternoon's 1-1 draw against Leeds United at Elland Road. Brenden Aaronson put the hosts in front in the 62nd minute before Matheus Cunha equalised just three minutes later.

With Amorim now gone, United will be looking for their 11th manager since Sir Alex Ferguson retired back in 2013.
At the moment, the likes of Oliver Glasner, Gareth Southgate, Xavi Hernandez, Zinedine Zidane, Enzo Maresca and Laurent Blanc have all been linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Reacting to Amorim's departure, under pressure West Ham United boss Nuno Espirito Santo said: "I'm surprised and sad, like everybody. He's Portuguese, a young manager, but it’s what it’s... We are aware that this is how the industry works."
"My advice for him? Go back home, reset, and get ready for the next challenge. This is life, ups and downs."
