Erik ten Hag reportedly knows which club he wants to manager should he be fired by Manchester United.

Manchester United have endured an underwhelming season, and as a result manager Ten Hag's future is uncertain.

The Red Devils have lost 11 Premier League games this season and as things stand look unlikely to qualify for next season's expanded Champions League.

United are currently sixth in the table and nine points behind Aston Villa in fourth, although Ten Hag's side do have a game in hand.

Rumours and reports that United's new minority owners INEOS - headed by Sir Jim Ratcliffe - aren't convinced Ten Hag is the man for them are gathering momentum.

Sir Dave Brailsford - INEOS director of sport - and Dan Ashworth - who is expected to become the club's director of football - regard England boss Gareth Southgate as the ideal candidate to replace Ten Hag should he be dismissed.

The likes of Julian Nagelsmann, Zinedine Zidane, Roberto De Zerbi and Graham Potter have all been linked with the Old Trafford hot seat as well.

According to German journalist Christian Falk, Ten Hag has a 'dream job' he would like to step into if he leaves United.

Speaking to Sport Bild, Falk claimed that Ten Hag "dreams of returning" to Bayern Munich as head coach.

The Dutchman was the head coach of Bayern Munich II between 2013 and 2015, and he led the side to the Regionalliga Bayern (regional fourth tier) title in 2013-14.

Ten Hag left the German club in 2015 to take the top job at Eredivisie side Utrecht, before he moved to Ajax in 2017 and then United in 2022.

Bayern are currently searching for a new manager after confirming that Thomas Tuchel will leave the Allianz Arena at the end of the season.

According to Falk, Bayern bosses are not currently considering Ten Hag as a replacement.
