Bayern Munich fans have aimed a brutal chant towards Manchester United ahead of their Champions League clash.

On Tuesday night, United welcomed German champions Bayern to Old Trafford knowing only a win would give them a chance to advance to the knockout stages.

United need to beat Bayern and hope Galatasaray’s match against FC Copenhagen ends in a draw to qualify for the last-16.

Last time round, United were beaten 4-3 when they travelled to Bavaria for the opening match of their Champions League campaign. Since then, United have only managed to win once against Copenhagen, whilst Bayern have already secured their place in the next round.

Ahead of the match, Bayern fans were heard chanting “You’re sh*t and you know you are,” as they gathered in the away end at Old Trafford. You can watch the footage below, the video contains strong language.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel said he sympathises with United boss Erik ten Hag.

He told reporters: “I sympathise with all my colleagues, no matter if they have a change of ownership or not, I sympathise with all of them.

“I know that it’s sometimes demanding and it’s sometimes more difficult than it looks from outside.”

Tuchel continued: “I think I know what it takes to manage big clubs and big players, and it’s sometimes demanding, sometimes you have periods where you feel stuck and the change is not coming quickly enough for you as a coach.

“That’s why I sympathise heavily for my colleague but not tomorrow of course, we’ll try to beat him and use this stage for ourselves to make the next step in our development. We have still a long way to go, we need to be very tough tomorrow to withstand this energy and this club here. I’m pretty sure Manchester United will bounce back like always, like in general, hopefully not tomorrow but in general.”
