Erling Haaland's new hair has got fans talking ahead of Bayern Munich Champions League clash

Erling Haaland has unveiled a new look ahead of Manchester City's huge clash with Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

Haaland moved to 30 Premier League goals for the season and 44 all competitions in his debut season in England after a brilliant brace against Southampton on Saturday.

The Norwegian goal machine opened the scoring with a header and then notched an outrageous overhead kick before being rested going into the big game against Bayern.

But fans have been stunned by Haaland changing up his appearance going into the quarter-final first leg at the Etihad Stadium.

The former Borussia Dortmund bagsman normally has his hair tied up in a ponytail but decided to put his long locks in pigtail braids, new images show.

The 6ft 5 specimen looked even more like a viking with his new trim but was also reminiscent of an eight year old child at the same time, garnering plenty of reaction amongst supporters on social media.

One joked: "Haaland just back from a family holiday in Portugal."

A second said: "He looks like the adult version of the kid in Matilda who gets thrown by trunchbull."

Another added: "He needs to bring this out in the game dog."

A fourth laughed: "May god help Bayern, cause this guy just tapped into his Viking ancestors."

A fifth had the same thought, writing: "He really loves his viking heritage."

A sixth commented: "Greta [Thunberg] got really tall didn't she?"

It remains to be seen whether Haaland will persist with the braided look when he mixes it up with the likes of Dayot Upamecano and Matthias de Ligt.

He had sat out the 4-1 thrashing of Liverpool a week prior but wasted no time being amongst the goals again.
