Manchester United supporters have spotted what Altay Bayindir did after being dropped to the bench for Saturday's win over Sunderland.

United secured a much-needed 2-0 victory at Old Trafford, with Mason Mount and Benjamin Sesko scoring for the home side to ease some of the pressure on head coach Ruben Amorim.

Reports ahead of the game had suggested that Amorim's job could be under threat if they lost to Sunderland after a disastrous start to the season.

Amorim responded to those reports with several bold tactical decisions against Regis Le Bris' side, including handing goalkeeper Senne Lammens his debut for the club.

United signed Lammens in an £18.3m move from Royal Antwerp in the summer, with Andre Onana leaving to join Turkish club Trabzonspor on loan shortly after.

Bayindir initially replaced him as first-choice goalkeeper but, after a series of disappointing performances, was dropped to the bench on Saturday - with Lammens handed a chance to impress against the Black Cats.

He took it with both hands, producing a solid performance which could see him keep his place in goal for United's next match against rivals Liverpool on October 19, after the upcoming international break.

Speaking after the win over Sunderland, Amorim praised the Belgian for his debut.

"I think he looks confident in the first game, but [the] important thing is that the teammates help Senne to have a good game, because everyone was focused, not a lot of mistakes, against a team that was really comfortable playing football. So, we did well, [it] was a good day for us," said Amorim.

"When Senne arrived here, first of all, Altay was playing, and then he arrives, and you can feel it, that he needs to adapt. New country, new training, the pressure that you guys put on the goalkeepers is massive.

"So, it was like a little preparation for the guy to be ready to start his first game."

After the match, fans spotted a telling moment between Lammens and Bayindir.

The Turkey international was seen congratulating his fellow goalkeeper, giving him a hug and a pat on the back.

The moment occurred while United's players were applauding the home support at Old Trafford.

Amorim will be delighted to see Bayindir's behaviour, particularly after his previous run-ins with United players over their attitude - including several members of the so-called 'Bomb Squad', who were made to leave Old Trafford this summer.

United supporters were also quick to praise the Turkish goalkeeper.

"The goalkeepers union is real, they all understand the pressure," posted one fan on Reddit.

While another added: "That is the spirit we want.

"Who plays and who scores, just be happy for each other and celebrate each other success."
