Manchester United fans were quick to offer their thoughts after one of the club’s players posted a photograph in attendance at Manchester City’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea last week.
Enzo Fernández’s late equaliser handed Chelsea a point against Man City at the Etihad last Sunday (January 4), just days after Enzo Maresca was sacked by the London club.
City dropping yet more points at home may have come as a surprise to many, but something fans wouldn’t have expected was a United player posting several photographs of himself at the Etihad alongside former UFC Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
United academy product Amir Ibragimov, 17, watched alongside the now-retired UFC icon, posting videos and several photographs of the 37-year-old, including one of Khabib holding a Man City shirt with “Khabib 29” printed on the back.

United fans were quick to offer their thoughts on the post, and not everyone was pleased.
One said: “Don’t you dare consider wearing blue over red.”
Another added: “United player posted a pic of a City kit bro... error there brother.”
A third claimed: “Wtf are you doing there? You’re a United player….”
While a fourth commented: “Tell him he went to the wrong side of Manchester.”
A fifth slammed: “Leave United, any player attending a city game should have their contract ripped up, shows how soft the club currently is.”
Ibragimov was born in Makhachkala, Dagestan, in 2008, before moving to England in 2017 as his father believed moving to the UK would provide better career opportunities for his children.
The teenage midfielder represents England at international level.

The 17-year-old’s older brother, Ibragim, 21, also has a background in professional sport and is currently considered one of the hottest prospects in MMA promotion PFL.
Amir started his career in South Yorkshire with Sheffield United at nine years of age before United signed him just a few weeks later.
Six years on, at 15, Amir then became one of the youngest players ever to train with the first team squad under Erik ten Hag in April 2023.
Amir’s two younger brothers, Gazik, 16, and Muhammad, 15, are also on United’s books, with the latter previously representing City.
