Liam Rosenior Spotted ‘Mocking’ Chelsea Player From Stands in Fulham Defeat

New Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior's reaction to one of his players was caught on camera in the 2-1 defeat to Fulham on Wednesday night.

Following the sacking of Enzo Maresca, the two-time Champions League winners moved to appoint Rosenior, who had been in charge of partner club Strasbourg in France.

Rosenior, who led Strasbourg to a seventh place finish in Ligue One last season, penned a six-and-a-half-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

Despite making the journey on the bus with the squad, he wasn't in the dugout for the west London derby with Fulham - with Under 21's boss Callum McFarlane taking charge as interim boss for the final time.

He let McFarlane have free rein over the team selection and preparation, stating that it was "a difficult time frame for me to get in the tactical work I want to get into" so soon.

But Rosenior was in the stands at Craven Cottage alongside co-owner Behdad Eghbali as Chelsea, who had Marc Cucurella sent off in the first half, were beaten for the sixth time in the Premier League after Harry Wilson's winner.

Liam Delap had equalised after Raul Jimenez's opener and Rosenior was seen celebrating.

The cameras regularly panned to the 41-year-old throughout the contest and at one point, he appeared to mimic winger Pedro Neto.

The Portugal international twice faked crossing the ball from the left before over-hitting his delivery with his right foot and frustrating the new Chelsea boss.

Rosenior rewatched the moment and then appeared to mock the former Wolves man and his body movement by moving his head in a comical manner.

One user on social media said that "Rosenior got caught making a mockery of Pedro Neto waiting 10 years to put in the worst cross".

Rosenior will begin leading training sessions on Thursday and will manage Chelsea for the first time on Saturday when they take on Championship side Charlton at the Valley in the FA Cup third round.

"As a young man I have always wanted to be a coach, I've talked about it a lot," Rosenior said about his huge gig.

"For this opportunity to come up at this stage of my career is great, but my biggest focus is not about being Chelsea manager, it's about being a winning Chelsea manager, and that is the message that I gave the players yesterday when I was fortunate enough to meet them for the first time.

"We need to hit the ground running for the rest of the season."

Chelsea are eighth in the Premier League, having picked up just eight wins in 21 games.
