Manchester City fans have been reacting on social media after seeing a passage of play involving Rayan Cherki and Phil Foden.
On Wednesday, City began their FIFA Club World Cup campaign against Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca at the Lincoln Financial Field in Pennsylvania.
City came away 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Foden and Jeremy Doku, but did have Rico Lewis sent off in the 88th minute.

Against Wydad, City boss Pep Guardiola decided to hand Cherki his debut alongside fellow new signing Tijjani Reijnders.
During the match, City fans were quick to point out a moment between Cherki and Foden.
As shown in a video posted on social media, Foden was accused of ignoring Cherki, who was asking for the ball while in space.

Foden decided to pass to other City players instead.
In response, Cherki looked frustrated and was seen throwing his arms up as he was hoping to receive the ball and make things happen.
Reacting on social media, one fan said: "You can tell Cherki is eager to prove himself. Got that hunger & it’s what we need. Why did Foden not pass to him though."
Another tweeted: "Don’t turn on Foden, he in a sense did the right thing. Cherki was getting properly dealt with by their defence and he just didn’t wanna lose possession. Also, it’ll take time for everything to click. It was the exact same for Haaland & Marmoush."

A third fan added: "He did same to Foden tbf."
Someone else wrote: "Imagine trying to creat drama from air."
A fifth commented: "We see it differently than how they see it on the pitch, everything is clear to us when sitting back so don’t blame them."

In truth, many similar situations happen during the course of a season, as a new player, it is normal for Cherki to take time to adapt to the way his teammates like to play.

Speaking after the match, Guardiola said: "We had good moments, many new players and the first game in this Group Stage is always important.
"We started really well then after had some problems, especially when losing simple balls. When you lose simple balls, the transition is a little bit there. But I saw many good things."
City will be back in action on Sunday when they take on Al Ain.
