Fans blown away after seeing the value of car Phil Foden drives to Man City training compared to his teammates

Foden's car choice differs to the rest of the City squad.

Fans have been left surprised after seeing the value of the car that Phil Foden drives to Manchester City training compared to his team-mates.

Foden's current contract at City expires in the summer of 2022, with the 24-year-old having signed a three-year extension back in October 2022.

The England international currently earns £225,000 per week, according to Capology, with that figure making him one of the top earners in City's squad.

Foden has spotted driving to the club's training ground in a lime green Audi RS3, as per TikTok user @mxp_psg.

It appears to be a saloon version of the model, which retails new at a starting price of around £60,000.

The midfielder passed his driving test in October 2023, while driving a Volkswagen hatchback.

Of the City first team squad, Foden appears to drive one of the cheaper cars, with Ruben Dias and Ederson each a driving Lamborghini Urus (over £200,000 new).

Kevin De Bruyne is said to own an Aston Martin DBX, which comes in at over £210,000.

Like Foden, meanwhile, reigning Ballon d'Or winner Rodri also drives an Audi, but instead pilots the updated RS5 Sportback model (£100,000).

And centre-back Manuel Akanji has been seen driving a Bentley Continental GTC, which ranges at between £250,000 all the way to over £300,000.

The one player in the video that has a cheaper car than Foden is Josko Gvardiol, who drives a Volkswagen Golf 8R.

The car retails at around £45,000 but can cost significantly more with modifications and other additions.

Part of the consideration for elite footballers when it comes to buying new cars is the insurance costs - some of which can total staggering amounts.

A 2021 study by MoneySuperMarket found that top footballers pay more in insurance premiums than any other profession, and up to five times more than the average car owner.
