Manchester City have invited a host of clubs to a nearly unprecedented 'shop window' game as they look to offload as many as 25 players.

Having announced Enzo Maresca as the replacement for Pep Guardiola following a decade of dominance, City are set for a summer of change in their squad and have already signed England midfielder Elliot Anderson for a club-record £115 million.

More incomings are due at the Etihad Stadium and there are set to be a raft of departures to follow the likes of Bernardo Silva and John Stones, who both left on a free after their contracts expired.

Nathan Ake has also ended his association with City, joining Turkish side Fenerbahce.

But in a surprise move, it's emerged that City are staging a game in order to show off some of the talent they are looking to get rid of this summer - whether on a temporary or permanent basis.

According to journalist Alan Nixon, City have invited clubs to attend the game on Tuesday where up to 25 players are expected to be involved.

A high number of clubs in the Championship are poised to be present, alongside sides in Europe.

The fixture will serve as an opportunity to see some of City's brightest talents who will be available to sign on loan or in a permanent switch.

Divine Mukasa, who played six times for City before spending the second half of last season on loan at Leicester City, is among those expected to play.

Jaden and Reigan Heskey, the sons of former England star Emile, are also set to be involved. Max Alleyne, who was recalled from a loan move with Watford amid a defensive crisis, is also in the mix along with fellow youngsters Spike Brits and Charlie Gray and former Luton Town loanee Issa Kabore.

There is no word on any potential involvement from Jack Grealish and Kalvin Phillips, who have both returned from their respective loan spells.

The pair, who have 70 England caps between them, were spotted training on the bike in a 40 degree chamber as they look to regain fitness.

Both are still contracted to City and could be with the team for pre-season.

Man City's little-known triple deal after record Elliot Anderson move

City are heading to Asia for their pre-season tour, taking on Inter Milan in Hong Kong before facing the K-League All Stars in Seoul. They lock horns with Atletico Madrid in the same city four days later prior to the Community Shield against Premier League winners in Cardiff.

City will likely be without a large amount of their first-team squad due to rest allocated for those involved in the World Cup but they have actually got a further new two recruits in the group.

City pipped Arsenal to sign 17-year-old winger Jeremy Monga in a £12.5 million switch from Maresca's former club Leicester City.

They also signed Mathys Detourbet from sister club Troyes for £21 million before loaning him straight out to AS Monaco.

Similarly, City have signed Northern Ireland goalkeeper Pierce Charles from Sheffield Wednesday but immediately loaned him out to QPR in the Championship.
