Manchester City captain Kevin De Bruyne has confirmed he will leave the club this summer after 10 trophy-laden years.

De Bruyne, arguably City's greatest ever player, is out of contract this summer and has been heavily linked with clubs in the United States and Saudi Arabia.

And on Friday morning, the Belgian took to X to announce he will be moving on from the Etihad Stadium for a new challenge.

In a letter to the club's fans, De Bruyne wrote: "Dear Manchester, Seeing this, you probably realise where this is heading. So I'll get straight to it and let you all know that these will be my final months as a Manchester City player.

"Nothing about this is easy to write, but as football players, we all know this day eventually comes. That day is here- and you deserve to hear it from me first.

"Football led me to all of you-and to this city. Chasing my dream, not knowing this period would change my life. This city. This club. These people... gave me EVERYTHING. I had no choice but to give EVERYTHING back! And guess what we won EVERYTHING.

"Whether we like it or not, it's time to say goodbye. Suri, Rome, Mason, Michèle, and I are beyond grateful for what this place has meant to our family. 'Manchester' will forever be on our kids' passports- and more importantly, in each of our hearts. This will always be our HOME.

"We cannot thank the city, club, staff, teammates, friends, and family enough for this 10-year ride. Every story comes to an end, but this has definitely been the best chapter.

"Let's enjoy these last moments together! Much love, KDB."

A £54 million signing from Wolfsburg, De Bruyne has won six Premier League titles with City, as well as five League Cups, two FA Cups and one Champions League.

A Premier League great, De Bruyne won the PFA Player of the Year award on two occasions in 2020 and 2021 - as well as being crowned the Playmaker of the Season three times.

Initially written off by pundits after a failed spell at Chelsea, the 33-year-old got his hands on 16 trophies and played a central role with a staggering 280 goal contributions.

De Bruyne has been heavily linked with new MLS franchise San Diego and his camp held talks with the American outfit. According to Bet365, De Bruyne is 10/11 to sign for an MLS side for the final chapter of his career.

But he also has admirers from Saudi Arabia and recent reports claim second tier side Neom SC could be his next destination. He is priced 11/8 to sign for any team in Saudi, while former club Genk are 20/1.

Other surprise sides are also on the list of possible clubs for De Bruyne.
