Details of when Premier League clubs are expecting to hear the verdict of Manchester City's 115 charges hearing have emerged.

In February 2023, the Premier League charged City with breaching the competition's financial rules on over 100 occasions, a claim that the club vehemently deny.

The official hearing listening to evidence from both sides began in September, with a verdict yet to be released despite the hearing concluding in December.

But now, a new update has revealed exactly when the remaining 19 Premier League clubs expect to learn the official verdict from the hearing, amid worries that it could cause chaos.

The exact details of the charges brought against City by the Premier League are not known, but it has been reported that the initial 115 charges may have increased to as many as 130.

Should City be found guilty of any or all of the charges, the punishment handed to them could be severe, with massive point deductions and fines just some of the possibilities.

And, according to the i journalist Mark Douglas, we may not have much longer to wait before we learn City's fate as the remaining Premier League clubs are anticipating a verdict to arrive 'imminently,' despite secrecy in recent shareholders meetings.

The report adds that this verdict is expected to arrived before the season ends on May 25, meaning that a potential guilty verdict could ultimately play a massive role in the for the top five or even the relegation battle.

Regardless of where City finish in the Premier League table by the end of the season, a point deduction could lead to them plummeting further down and massively altering their future, as well as the future of other clubs who could see their finishing position changed.

This chaotic situation is made even worse by the potentially lengthy appeal process that is expected to follow the panel's verdict, regardless of what it may be.

It is believed that these appeals could take several months to be resolved, creating further uncertainty over the 2024/25 Premier League standings.

A source has even confirmed to the i Paper that a scenario that sees City playing in the Champions League next season while an appeal is ongoing off the field remains a firm possibility.
