Liverpool fans stunned after seeing what Alexis Mac Allister did moments before Man City penalty

Fans are gobsmacked by what Alexis Mac Allister was doing just seconds before he stepped up to equalise for Liverpool against Man City.

Fans can't believe what Alexis Mac Allister was doing just moments before he took his penalty during the huge title race six-pointer at Anfield.

Liverpool and City played out a thrilling 1-1 draw at Anfield on Sunday, a result that leaves the Premier League title race finely balanced with Arsenal now in the driving seat.

City seized the lead in the first half through a well-executed corner routine from Kevin De Bruyne. John Stones poked the ball home at the near post after Nathan Ake's block on Alexis Mac Allister created space.

Jurgen Klopp's men weren't exactly at the races in the first half, and it could have gotten much worse for them as City missed a handful of chances to extend their lead. Arguably the most notable was a 1v1 between Erling Haaland and Virgil Van Dijk, where the Norwegian managed to bypass the defender and get a shot off.

Despite Pep Guardiola's side having the upper hand for the majority of the first half, Klopp's half-time team talk must have been Oscar-worthy.

The home side came out of the blocks at 100mh for the second period and absolutely dominated the second half with City looking like a rabbit caught in the headlights.

Despite Liverpool's class, it was actually City who shot themselves in the foot for the equaliser as a poor Nathan Ake backpass led to a rash moment from Ederson who cleaned out Darwin Nunez for a stone wall penalty.

With usual penalty taker Mo Salah still on the bench, the spot kick responsibility fell to Mac Allister, who after a long delay expertly converted into the top left corner.

Following the match, fans noticed the Argentine had casually been doing 'keepy-ups' while waiting for his penalty and Liverpool fans were very impressed with Mac Allister's composure.

One fan posted: "Wish I could’ve seen how relaxed Alexis was because I was NOT this level of calm throughout that wait."

Another made the point: "You must be forgetting this brudda took a pen in the World Cup final this is nothing to him."

A third added: "I trust Macca with my life. Always so good on the ball, almost always makes the right decision and so good from the spot. Composure personified."

Fans had even seen enough to want Salah to be taken off penalty duties and be replaced by the former Brighton midfielder.

"I'd forgotten what a great penalty taker he was for Brighton. Calm, no fuss, no eccentrics. I'd have him on pens over Mo I think," The fan explained.
