Chiesa was officially announced as a new Liverpool player on Thursday, signing a four-year deal after joining from Juventus for a guaranteed fee of £10 million and £2.5 million in performance-related add-ons.

He comes as the second signing since new manager Arne Slot replaced club legend Jurgen Klopp, with Georgia keeper Giorgi Mamardashvili joining earlier in the window.

And, after a clip emerged online showing Chiesa meeting new team mate Alexander-Arnold, fans took to social media to speak about the pair's first interaction.

Following the right-back's concerning reaction to being substituted late in Liverpool's 2-0 win over Brentford last weekend, fans are happy to see Alexander-Arnold act in such a postive way.

Reacting to the clip on X, one fan wrote: "Trent looks fired up seeing Chiesa."

Another added: "Trent and Chiesa meet, got a feeling they’ll be involved in a lot of goals together 🤩"

After the match against Brentford, Slot spoke about how Alexander-Arnold reacted to being taken off in the 73rd minute.

"He didn’t look that happy after being taken off, you mean?ā€ Slot said when asked about Trent's reaction.

ā€œI understand. Every player wants to play 90 minutes but I don’t think the players that were on the bench from the start were really happy with the choice I made."

He added: "Trent came back from the national team, where in the beginning of the tournament he played quite a lot and then he didn’t.

ā€œHe had a few weeks off, came back and it is only his third game and we have to take care of him. We need him for the whole season and not only for the first two games.

ā€œThe good thing for me is that I have a very good backup as well with Conor, that means we are taking care of Trent, but he played a good game.ā€
