Liverpool fans think that one star player is set to leave the club after spotting he was left out of the squad for a behind-closed-doors friendly.

With less than a month until the 2025/26 Premier League season gets underway, Liverpool remain busy in the summer transfer window.

Despite weeks of links with Newcastle United star Alexander Isak, the Reds decided to move forward with a deal for Eintracht Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitike.

The deal come after Liverpool already secured transfers for Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez earlier in the window.

But it's not just incomings that Liverpool have been busy organising throughout the summer, as several players have been linked with moves away from Anfield this summer.

And after a leaked image showed Arne Slot's squad for a behind-close-doors friendly on Sunday, fans are convinced they know who will be next to leave the club.

On Sunday afternoon, Liverpool secured a dominant 5-0 win over Stoke City at the AXA Training Centre, with a hat-trick of goals from Darwin Nunez, and one for both Rio Ngumoha and Federico Chiesa.

In an image shared by journalist Ben Pescod, the team sheet showed that Arne Slot decided to field a strong team for a friendly match against the Championship side with the likes of Wirtz, Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk all in action.

However, one name that wasn't included in the squad was winger Luis Diaz, who has recently been linked with moves away to the likes of Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Reacting to the news, one fan wrote: "Diaz not in the squad for Stoke, certainly looks like he's off. What do we think the final figure we agree upon will be for him?"

While another suggested: "Luis Diaz didn’t feature at all in today’s behind closed door friendly against Stoke City. Looks like his move to Bayern is close then."

And one wrote: "Hmm … not impressed. Happy for Diaz to stay but his head is on more money."

The report comes just hours after transfer guru Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Bayern Munich are set to bid again for Diaz and view him as their top target.

And with Barcelona recently completing a deal for Manchester United outcast Marcus Rashford, it appears that the Bundesliga champions will be the only club issuing a pursuit for the winger.

Both Alisson Becker and Alexis Mac Allister were also not a part of the matchday squad, but with nothing to indicate that either man are at all considering leaving the club, their absence hasn't concerned fans.

Harvey Elliott also missed out on the squad, perhaps adding fuel to rumours that he also could leave Liverpool this summer, with several Premier League clubs linked.

Who could Liverpool buy if Luis Diaz leaves?

Ever since rumours of Luis Diaz's departure from Anfield emerged, further reports have claimed that Liverpool are considering replacing him with out-of-favour Real Madrid star Rodrygo.

The Brazilian is believed to be available for between €60 million to €80 million after he made it clear that he isn't happy with the game time being given to him under new manager Xabi Alonso.
