Football fans are absolutely shocked after seeing what Paddy Power have decided to do ahead of Liverpool's huge match against Manchester City.

On Sunday afternoon, football fans will be treated to perhaps the most highly-anticipated match of the Premier League season as reigning champions Man City welcome top of the table Liverpool to the Etihad stadium.

The stakes heading into the match were already higher than ever, but were raised even further after Liverpool's title rivals Arsenal suffered a shock 1-0 home loss to West Ham United on Saturday.

Immediately after the match, Paddy Power took to social media to make a shock announcement ahead of Sunday's massive game, and fans cannot believe it.

Saturday's result in London means that Liverpool will maintain their eight point lead over Arsenal regardless of what happens at the Etihad.

Both teams have just 12 matches left to play in the English top flight this season, making it seem increasingly unlikely that Arsenal will be able to catch Liverpool and claim the Premier League title.

And it would seem that Paddy Power agree, as they have announced that they have decided to pay out all bets predicting that Liverpool would win the 2024/25 Premier League, despite there still being three months left of the season.

Announcing the decision on X, Paddy Power's official account wrote: "We've seen enough. With Arsenal losing to West Ham, the title race is as good as over.

"So we're paying out on Liverpool to win the 2024/2025 Premier League."

Reacting to the announcement, one fan wrote: "This bookie is as funny as it gets, definitely seen enough. Easiest premier league title ever."

While another added: "This is a different type of disrespectful and we fully deserve it."

And one simply joked: "Stay humble eh?"

Several other fans took the comments to show off their winning bet slips, with one punter claiming a massive £750 after placing a £100 bet on the Reds to win the League earlier in the season.

As it stands, the popular bookie has Liverpool as favourites to win the clash with City on Sunday, pricing it at 23/20 while a City win is priced at 19/10.
