Mohamed Salah turned down an interview request in sublime fashion as he walked through the mixed zone following Liverpool's clash against Brighton on Saturday.

Salah was named on the bench for a fourth consecutive Premier League match as Liverpool welcomed Fabian Hurzeler's side to Anfield.

The 33-year-old, who missed this week's Champions League clash against Inter Milan, was dropped after he accused the club of throwing him "under the bus" following a tricky start to the 2025-26 campaign.

After being benched against Leeds on December 6, Salah also claimed that his relationship with manager Arne Slot had broken down as he spoke to reporters in the Elland Road mixed zone.

A week later and Slot opted to include the Egyptian in his squad for Saturday's game against Brighton.

Asked ahead of kick-off if he was “happy with the position the Salah dispute has reached,” the Liverpool head coach said: “Yes, of course, otherwise I would have done [it] probably differently."

After being named as a substitute alongside record signing Alexander Isak, Salah ended up spending just 26 minutes on the bench as he was introduced for the injured Joe Gomez.

Unsurprisingly, the 33-year-old received a warm reception from the Liverpool faithful.

Salah proceeded to notch a second-half assist for Hugo Ekitike, meaning he has overtaken Wayne Rooney's record for most goal involvements for a single team in Premier League history (277).

After the full-time whistle, reporters must have anticipated a comment from Salah as they waited patiently in the Anfield mixed zone.

And that's exactly what they got. As seen in the footage below, a smiling Salah turned down an interview request as he walked through the media scrum. He also commented: “Two weeks in a row? No, no, no.”

Here's how fans on social media responded to the scenes.

One said: "Press fella man marking Salah," and a second commented: "Fair play this is hilarious."

A third wrote: "We’ve got our happy Mohamed Salah back," while a fourth added: "He only stops in the mixed zone once a season so I think we're done here."

Clubs express interest in signing Mo Salah

The Saudi Pro League's chief executive Omar Mugharbel said at this week's World Football Summit that a number of Saudi clubs are interested in signing Salah.

Al Hilal, Al Nassr, Al Ittihad, Al Ahli and Al Qadsiah are all prepared to make a move for the player, according to The Telegraph.

Speaking in his bombshell interview on December 6, Salah was asked whether he could move to the Saudi Pro League in January. "I don't want to answer that question because club will take me in a different direction," he said.
