Mohamed Salah has been tipped to win the 2025 Ballon d'Or after he made a genius move ahead of the season ending.

As the 2024/25 season comes to an end, discussions over the 2025 Ballon d'Or have already started ramping up, with several of the world's best players in with a chance of winning the prestigious award.

Following amazing seasons for several clubs across Europe, the door is open for the likes of Paris Saint-Germain's Ousmane Dembele, Barcelona pair Lamine Yamal and Raphinha or Liverpool superstar Salah.

But fans are convinced that Salah may have moved himself into pole position to win this year's award after he made a genius move to boost his chances.

On Wednesday night, Paris Saint-Germain welcome Arsenal to the Parc des Princes for the second leg of their Champions League semi-final clash.

Having faced the formidable PSG side earlier in the competition, Salah decided to speak with the French media about the team and how he felt about them after they knocked Liverpool out of the Champions League.

“I have to be honest. PSG had a very good first leg. We were so lucky. Alisson had the best game of his career at Liverpool. They were very unlucky," Salah told French outlet L'Equipe.

"Then they came to Anfield. And we were the ones who were unlucky because we hit the post two or three times.

"In this match, everything was 50/50. Who deserved to qualify more? No one could say. We had a very good second leg, they had a very good first leg."

Reflecting on the result, Salah added: "It was their day and I shook the players' hands afterward, I said to them: ' Congratulations, go win it!' and that was it. We were playing the best team in Europe at that time."

Salah's decision to take part immediately got Liverpool fans thinking about why exactly he would decide to speak with the French media, leading some of them to the conclusion that he did so to boost his chances of winning the Ballon d'Or.

Each year, the winner of the Ballon d'Or award is ultimately decided by French footballing publication France Football, who considers votes from a large panel of journalists to decide their winner.

Reacting to the Salah's interview one fan suggested: "Mo talking to the French media is no coincidence."

While another added: "Getting that France football ballon d'or PR."

And one joked: "He is pulling 1400 Elo chess move."
