There have been significant developments emerging this week over a deal to sign one of England’s most promising youngsters, with 15-year-old Rio Ngumoha believed to be closing in on a move to Merseyside.
Liverpool have a strict wage structure for their academy stars but reports suggest Ngumoha is rated so highly they will smash their existing framework to bring him to the club.
The youngster has already featured for Chelsea’s U21 side and Blues fans are furious they are allowing one of their prized assets to depart for a rival.

On the other hand, Liverpool fans are over the moon after footage of Ngumoha in action went viral on social media; some fans went as far as suggesting the youngster had shades of Real Madrid superstar Mbappe.
Here is how they reacted to the footage.
One fan wrote: “Rio’s got Mbappe at Monaco vibes in terms of his gait and body frame. His footwork is more tekky tho whereas Mbappe was more direct and all about finishing at that age..”

Another fan said: “He looks like a Musiala clone.”
A third said: “Chelsea fans seem to be raging about this one which is a good sign.”
A fourth wrote: “Chelsea fans say biggest talent at cobham since Musiala. Must be a baller.”
Liverpool were offered to the chance to sign Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon prior the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability deadline on June 30 but ultimately decided against moving for the England international.

Hughes admitted the club would remain opportunistic in the window while Slot assesses his squad.
He said: “With the window open, we'll always be opportunistic if we can ... Then, like always, when August starts and coaches have had more time to work with players, I think the opinions will then be more set at football clubs.
“You then may see a situation in August, like in previous seasons, there is a little bit of a hurry to get things done and to make sure everyone's squads are in order.

“I don’t think this will be any different, but who knows what will transpire economically? It is hard to say and speak for other clubs. I see a quiet July, then a crescendo in August.”
