Boyhood Liverpool fan and academy product Jayden Danns delivered a passionate rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone after Sunday's Carabao Cup final against Chelsea – and his teammates loved it.

Danns, who made his Premier League debut in Liverpool's 4-1 win against Luton Town last week, was handed more first-team minutes by Jurgen Klopp at the weekend.

He replaced Cody Gakpo with three minutes of normal time remaining and impressed during his short cameo. In fact, Ian Wright was full of praise for the academy product.

"You look at the young players that came on, even Danns. I’ve not seen too much of him but he came on in that final like an experienced pro the way he played, the way he held the ball," Wright said.

"He didn’t look like he was in awe of anything. He was just in and ready to go. And that is something to do with the aura of Liverpool and what they expect from a player that can come on and ‘this is fine, this is what we’re about’."

Virgil van Dijk would go on to score an 118th-minute winner for Liverpool as a number of academy players helped them over the line, including James McConnell and Bobby Clark.

After the full-time whistle, those youth players who were so crucial to Sunday's victory celebrated a memorable victory in front of the Liverpool faithful at Wembley.

As you can see from the footage below, the entire squad lined up to sing You'll Never Walk Alone – and 18-year-old Danns made his voice heard with an emotional rendition.

Here's how fans on social media reacted to the scenes.

One said: "Love that. Klopp has truly built something special. Young lads would usually be too shy to be themselves around senior players, not this bunch of warriors."

A second wrote: "Jayden Danns showing his passion and love for the club. Absolutely love this," while a third commented: "You already know he’s going to fight for the badge."

A fourth added: "Look at Trent and Szoboszlai. They’re made up for him. They love how much he’s loving it. Stars, made up for a lad they’ve known for a month and played a half hour in his entire career. Boss in many ways, this team."

So many voiced their appreciation for Danns' performance against Chelsea, including Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

Speaking after the game, he said: “Jayden Danns has only recently joined us in first-team training.

“I loved him from the first second; really special. And he comes on today, OK he played in the last game, but he could have scored two goals in his first League Cup game. It’s absolutely insane.”
