Barcelona sporting director Deco has spoken about Jurgen Klopp after he was linked with the managerial position at the Camp Nou.

Klopp, who will leave Liverpool at the end of the season, has been linked with the Barca hotseat following his bombshell announcement over his future.

It comes after Xavi made his own announcement that he's stepping down as Barca manager this summer.

But Deco, who played for the Catalan outfit during his playing days, has brushed off rumours linking Klopp with the La Liga side.

However, he called the German boss a 'great coach'.

He said: “He is a great coach, but I think this is not the time to talk about that.

"The new coach will want to make changes, but first the project and the ideas will have to be explained to him. There are many options.”

Klopp is also thought to be on Germany's radar as the country's FA look to acquire his services in view to the 56-year-old taking charge of a national team for the first time in his managerial career.

But one thing's for sure, Klopp has promised to never manage another English club following his time at Liverpool.

"If you ask me now if I will ever manage again? I would say no," he said.

"But you don't know obviously as I've never had this situation. But I do know definitely I will never manage a different club in England than Liverpool. It is impossible.

"I will find something else to do. But I will not manage a club or country for at least a year."

Klopp has guided Liverpool to Premier League and Champions League glory during his legendary spell at Anfield.

He'll look to bow out with another league time as his side currently sit at the top of the league.
