Jurgen Klopp has overseen some tremendous transfer deals during his nine-year tenure at Anfield, with Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker all playing their part in the club's modern-day success.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss has continued to help the Reds return to the top of European football, but is now set to leave the club at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

Having been with Liverpool since 2015, the 56-year-old has brought 43 players to the club, with some not as successful as the aforementioned big-hitters.

Can't remember the first addition of the Klopp era? Fear not, as SPORTbible have delved through the archives to look at the German's first three additions on Merseyside and answer one vital question. Where are they now?

Marko Grujic

Signing from Red Star Belgrade back in January 2016, midfielder Marko Grjuic became the first signing for Klopp at Liverpool, as the Reds parted with a minimal fee of just £5.1million.

Mustering just 16 appearances, the Serbian is now with Portuguese side FC Porto, for whom he left Liverpool for back in 2020.

At 27, Grujic has 24 caps for his country and is now a mere rotation player for Sergio Conceicao's side.

Steven Caulker

Much like Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren and Sadio Mane, Steven Caulker also arrived from Southampton, albeit on a very short temporary deal.

The centre-back was used as a striker famously for the Reds against Manchester United, Arsenal and Norwich, later admitting he had both alcohol and gambling issues during his spell with Liverpool.

Now 32, Caulker is with Spanish side Malaga City as a player/manager, after enjoying spells with Dundee in Scotland and Fenerbahce in Turkey.

Kamil Grabara

Tipped as a promising young goalkeeper from Poland, Kamil Grabara arrived from from Ruch Chorzów for £250,000 in January of 2016.

The now 25-year-old never made a senior appearance for the club, despite spending five years at Anfield from 2016-2021.

He is now with Danish side FC Copenhagen and played the full 90 minutes as his side beat Manchester United 4-3 in the UEFA Champions League at home earlier this season.
