Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate has taken a brutal dig at Arsenal fans following star player Bukayo Saka's injury.

Arsenal continued to apply pressure to Premier League leader Liverpool after securing a 5-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

However, it wasn't all good news for Arsenal fans as talisman Saka was forced off the pitch with an injury early in the clash, later being seen leaving the ground on crutches.

And now, Liverpool centre-back Konate has reacted to Saka's injury by replying to fans comparing it to the injury the Frenchman suffered last month.

Following Konate's injury during Liverpool's 2-0 Champions League win over Real Madrid, one Arsenal fan wrote on X: "Rivalry aside I hope Konate’s injury is serious".

In the wake of Arsenal star Saka's injury on Saturday during the 5-1 thrilling win over Crystal Palace, a Liverpool supporter shared an image of the Arsenal fan's post, alongside the caption "Karma is a b****"

And Konate decided to reply to the Liverpool fan's comments, writing: "We are not like them, we wish no harm. Anyway In Sha Allah big 3 pts today."

The French defender is set to be absent for Liverpool's match against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday in London, and is expected to remain sidelined for the foreseeable future.

Speaking ahead of the match, Reds manager Arne Slot provided a fitness update on Konate and teammate Conor Bradley.

“These are the two that are still ‘in the red’, so they don’t train with us at the moment. They are on their way back but they don’t train with the team yet," said Slot.

When asked for a timeline of their return, the Dutchman added: “That is, what I’ve said before, quite difficult. We thought, I thought, that [Diogo] Jota would have been back a bit earlier already and sometimes the end stage of rehab takes a bit longer.

“Sometimes they join [training] and then they are like, ‘I’m not completely ready to start yet.’ So, let’s wait and see but we have very good rehab personnel over here and they’ve done some good work already with Alisson [Becker] and a few others.

“The main thing is that if they come back, they are ready to come back and we must not focus on one, two or three days. It’s more important for the long term that they stay fit afterwards.

“Until now they have done really well and hopefully with Conor and Ibou the same thing happens.”
