Ibrahima Konate is attracting significant interest ahead of the summer window, with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and one of Liverpool's Premier League rivals battling to snap him up on a free transfer.
It looks like Konate has played his final game for Liverpool after failing to agree terms on a new deal, according to widespread reports.
The 27-year-old defender, who has made 51 appearances in all competitions this season, was in talks regarding a new contract for several months. In fact, he hinted last month that a deal was close.
"There are many things people have said but for a long time we have spoken with the club and we are close to an agreement," he said. "For sure, there is a big chance that I'm here next season. This is what I've always wanted."

However, after disagreements against the backdrop of a disruptive season at Anfield, it looks like he will leave on a free this summer.
As expected, there is plenty of interest in the experienced Konate. A report from L'Equipe suggests Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are keen after keeping tabs on his situation at Liverpool for a while.
And in a development that may come as a surprise to many, Xabi Alonso's Chelsea are also intending on 'trying their luck'.

Alonso is said to have recommended Konate during his short reign as Real Madrid manager, according to a report from Defensa Central, which suggests the Spaniard spoke to president Florentino Perez about his ability.
Konate joined Liverpool from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig in 2021 for £36 million and has played 183 times for the club, winning one Premier League, two Carabao Cups and an FA Cup.
Chelsea are keen to announce Xabi Alonso era with new signings
Before agreeing terms to become the new Chelsea boss, Alonso was keen to seek assurances over the club's transfer strategy and coach's authority, according to a report from ESPN.
One transfer that could come to fruition in the not-so-distant future involves AC Milan and France goalkeeper Mike Maignan, who is admired by those behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge.
In fact, the 30-year-old was close to signing for Chelsea last summer and even said "yes" to the club, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, but a move fell through after his asking price became a sticking point.
However, the Blues have reignited their interest ahead of the upcoming window as they are keen to upgrade on current number one Robert Sanchez.
"Chelsea has never forgotten Mike, even if for now we’re simply in the informational phase, let’s call it in-depth analysis," the above report reads. "But, depending on how the Rossoneri season ends, it could become much more."
AC Milan failed to qualify for the Champions League in a season the club's hierarchy described as an "unequivocal failure".
