The wife of Diogo Jota has shared her first social media post since the tragic passing of the Liverpool player.
Jota died in a car crash in Spain earlier this month. His brother Andre Silva, who was also a professional footballer, also lost his life.
Liverpool players paid tribute to their teammate, including Andy Robertson, who shared a touching statement in the wake of Jota's passing.
Just days before his death, he married his long-term partner Rute Cardoso.

Jota proposed to Rute back in July 2022 before tying the knot on June 22, 2025.
He shared a post of their wedding day, which emerged following his death.
Rute has since taken to social media to mark the one-month anniversary of their wedding.
She shared several photos from their wedding, accompanied with the caption: "1 month [since we said], 'Until death do us part'. For ever, Your [bride]."
Jota and Rute were childhood sweethearts, with pictures of the pair on social media dating back to 2013.

They have three children together, including a four-year-old and a two-year-old son as well as their only daughter, who was born last year.
Rute would regularly attend Jota's matches and supported him during his career.
She has often posted pictures of her cheering him on from the stands for both Liverpool and Portugal.

Speaking to the club's official website, Arne Slot paid tribute to Jota and referenced his family.
"First of all, it had a lot of impact on us but nothing compared to the loss that is felt by his parents, his wife Rute and his children and his other family. The first feeling we all have is of sadness," he said. "The second feeling that comes to my mind is pride.
"I think his parents and Rute can be so proud of the player and the person he was - mainly the person. I’ve spoken to many of his teammates, I’ve spoken to many staff members, and they all rate him so high and all say how nice of a person he was. That he was always himself. So they should and will be very proud if they could hear what all his teammates and all the staff members would say about him.
"Second of all, I think our fans can be so proud about the players we have at this club. They’ve seen them winning the league, that was a great achievement, but what they did in the last week with the togetherness they had, how they conducted themselves when we were in Portugal together, the fans couldn’t have asked for more from our players when it comes to how great human beings they are.

"Those are the two emotions. Of course, the first emotion of sadness is much stronger than the one of being proud. But it’s the both of them."
Liverpool have also paid tribute by retiring the No.20 shirt in honour of Jota, who wore the number following his transfer from Wolves in the summer of 2020.
