
Diogo Jota's final social media post has emerged in the wake of his tragic passing.
According to reports in both Spain and Portugal, Liverpool star Jota died in a car crash early on Thursday morning in a traffic accident.
A report from zamora24horas states the 28-year-old and his brother and fellow footballer, Andre, were involved in a fatal accident that occurred in Zamora, in northwestern Spain.
It is also reported that the Traffic Civil Guard, the Fire Brigade of the Provincial Council of Zamora and the Emergency Coordination Centre (CCU) of Health Emergencies were dispatched to the scene.

A Medical Emergency Unit (UME) and the Primary Care Medical Staff (MAP) from the Mombuey Health Center were sent.
A statement read: "The 1-1-2 Castilla y León operations room received several calls reporting a vehicle accident at Km. 65 of the A-52, in the municipality of Cernadilla, Zamora. A car was reported to have been involved in an accident and the vehicle was on fire. 1-1-2 notified the Zamora Traffic Police, the Zamo."

Jota's death comes just weeks after his wedding.

He married Rute Cardoso last month, having been in a relationship with her since 2012.
She is the mother to their three children.
Jota proposed to Rute back in July 2022 before tying the knot on June 22, 2025.
They both took to Instagram to share their special day on social media, collaborating on a post.

The video of their wedding is accompanied with the caption: "A day we will never forget."
Jota joined Liverpool from Wolves in the summer of 2020.
He scored 65 goals in 182 games for Liverpool and helped his team win the Premier League title last season.
The Portuguese has also won the FA Cup and EFL Cup as well as two Nations League title with his national team.
