Liverpool have released a documentary featuring an interview filmed with Diogo Jota before his tragic death.
Jota and his brother Andre Silva, who was also a professional footballer for Portuguese side Penafiel, died in a car accident in northeast Spain on July 3.
The pair were laid to rest at a joint funeral in Gondomar near Porto on July 5 with several members of the Portugal and Liverpool squad attending the ceremony.
Jota’s number 20 has since been retired and the side will also wear a specially made ‘Forever 20’ emblem on their match shirts for the duration of the 2025/26 season.

On the decision to retire the shirt head coach Arne Slot told LFC.com: “Yeah, it was really important. We will always carry him with us in our hearts, in our thoughts, wherever we go.
“Maybe especially in difficult moments because of what I just said. But in any moment, we are here, we will carry him with us in our thoughts and in our hearts. To retire his shirt is the one thing we could, should and have done.”
Jota was once again remembered on Sunday ahead of the FA Community Shield match between Liverpool and Crystal Palace with Reds legend Ian Rush and Palace chairman Steve Parish placing wreaths at pitch side before a minute’s silence ensued.

The silence was cut short due to some sections of the Palace supporters not observing it in a respectful manner.
Captain Virgil van Dijk admitted that he was “disappointed” at the incident following the match while Slot explained that he didn’t think there was “bad intention to it, because the fans of Crystal Palace and everywhere around the world have paid huge respect to Diogo and Andre”.
On Tuesday, the club published footage of Jota which was included in the documentary named ‘Champions 24-25: The Inside Story’ released on Liverpool’s social media platforms.

In the documentary, Jota speaks about how capturing the 2024/25 Premier League title was a “remarkable” achievement.
"To arrive at this particular season with the title I've been chasing for a lot of years,” Jota said.
“It is a remarkable achievement. It's a moment I will cherish forever. It was outstanding."
The 72-minute long doc also includes interviews with Van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Alisson Becker and several other members of the title-winning side.
