In the 13th minute of the Liverpool and Crystal Palace game at Anfield, the home fans held a protest to club owners FSG by holding up yellow cards to protest against a potential 13 per cent rise in ticket prices over the coming three years.
Fan groups such as Spirit of Shankly (SoS) have been vocal in their opposition to this decision by the owners, which are set to rise in line with inflation over the next three seasons.
Clubs throughout the top flight of England have seen price rises for tickets steadily rise to take it away from being considered the working man’s game, and Liverpool fans are attempting to show their concern and anger at the decision by the Reds’ owners.
So, Liverpool CEO Billy Hogan’s reaction to the protest has not been welcomed by fans after he was caught during the match's broadcast attempting to hide a smirk with his hand.

This has angered fans on social media, and they have let their feelings be known about this reaction.
One fan wrote: “Billy Hogan seen laughing as Liverpool supporters protest against rising ticket prices?? Pathetic.”
Another supporter said: “Also I hope it wasn’t just my stream that showed it, but did anyone else catch Billy Hogan laughing at the protest?' Really, really bad look.”
One made a sarcastic comment about how Hogan will react to the protest after witnessing his reaction on TV, as they said: “I hope all season ticket holders are prepared for Billy Hogan to "personally reach out to them" in the coming days after cameras caught him laughing during the protest.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool journalist James Pearse was reporting from the game and set the scene around the protest to demonstrate the anger of Reds fans as he quoted their chants being directed at the ownership.
He said: "The chant: ‘You greedy b******s, enough is enough,’ goes around Anfield as tens of thousands of supporters hold up yellow cards in protest at ticket price increases.”
As Liverpool went in 2-0 to the good at the break following goals from Alexander Isak and Andy Robertson, you may have expected fans to be in a relatively buoyant mood, but once supporters had noticed the reaction to their protest by Hogan, an angry feeling may have quickly filled those who saw the CEO smirk at their concerns.
