The full list of predictions BBC Sports pundits made ahead of the 2024/25 Premier League season have resurfaced, and some of them were way off.

Liverpool took one step closer to winning the 2024/25 Premier League title with a emphatic 2-0 win over recent rivals Manchester City at the Etihad stadium on Sunday.

Arsenal's shock 1-0 home loss in a London derby against West Ham United on Saturday allowed Arne Slot's side to go eleven points clear on top of the Premier League table with less than a third of matches still to be played.

With Liverpool potentially on the brink of claiming their 20th top-flight league titles, equalling the record set by Manchester United, fans have looked back on the pre-season predictions of BBC sport's pundits, and there are some shockers.

As is tradition at the start of every Premier League season, pundits and journalists attempt to predict exactly what is going to happen for bragging rights and to show off that they know exactly what they're talking about.

Of course, it's almost impossible to predict what way such an exciting league is going to go nearly ten months before the final match of the season, and the full list of BBC pundits' predictions is clear proof of this.

Although Slot's triumphant first season at Liverpool has come as a surprise to many, it may come as a shock that not one of the 30 pundits, former players and journalists at the BBC tipped the Reds to win the Premier League this season.

In fact, three of them even made the bold call to predict that Liverpool would finish outside of the top four, likely assuming that they would take some time to adjust to life without legendary manager Jurgen Klopp.

Everton legend Leon Osman predicted that, after several years of challenging, Mikel Arteta's Arsenal would finally lift the Premier League title in May, with Manchester City, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur making the rest of the top four.

Fellow former Toffee Pat Nevin also anticipated a difficult season for his former Merseyside rivals, picking Man City, Arsenal, Newcastle and Chelsea as his top four for the season.

Finally, Steve Sidwell boldly predicted Erik ten Hag's Manchester United to finish second this season, with City winning a fifth consecutive Premier League title and Arsenal and Chelsea making up the rest of the top four.

Overall, the majority of BBC pundits predicted that Liverpool would finish third this season, with Manchester City on top and Arsenal once again falling just short of lifting their first Premier League title since 2004.
