Liverpool fans have done a complete U-turn on forgotten star after seeing new training footage

Liverpool supporters are all saying the same thing about a player after watching training footage released by the club.

The Premier League leaders are preparing for what promises to be a fiercely contested Merseyside derby against Everton at Anfield on Wednesday evening.

Liverpool are currently 12 points ahead of Arsenal at the top of the league and look likely to secure a 20th English top flight crown.

However, in recent weeks things have not been all positive with Liverpool crashing out of the Champions League against PSG as well as losing 2-1 in the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle.

Questions surrounding the futures of Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah also remain unanswered while Trent Alexander-Arnold looks set to move to Real Madrid at the end of the season upon the expiration of his contract.

And it is easy to forget that Arne Slot is still getting to grips with his squad with the likes of Jarell Quansah, Wataru Endo and Joe Gomez being just a few of the Liverpool players who have hardly featured this season.

But fans are calling for another star, who has featured sporadically, to be given a bigger role at the club.

Federico Chiesa signed for Liverpool from Juventus in the summer of 2024, but his time at Anfield has not played out as well as he may have expected with the Italy international featuring just 11 times with just three of his appearances coming in the Premier League.

However, fans are calling for him to be given an opportunity after watching training footage released on the club’s official channels on Monday.

One said: "Chiesa at centre forward seems the way to go."

Another added: "2025/2026 season Federico Chiesa is going to be glorious. Ballon d'Or loading already."

A third explained: "Fede needs to play vs Everton man. Deserves it after Newcastle. Hope Slot thinks so too."

While a fourth commented: "I don’t think there’s another player I want to succeed at Liverpool more than Fede Chiesa at the moment."

Whether Slot will allow Chiesa more playing time remains unclear but the winger could return to his native Italy this summer with reports suggesting Antonio Conte is keen on bringing the player to Napoli.
