Jeff Bezos tipped to join Wrexham in sensational move that could see Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney achieve Premier League dream

One of the richest men in the world could be set to join the Hollywood pair at Wrexham.

Amazon boss Jeff Bezos has been tipped to join Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney at Wrexham and help them reach the Premier League.

Ever since Hollywood stars Reynolds and McElhenney bought Wrexham in November 2020, the Welsh club has been on an incredible run that has seen them earn three successive promotions up to the Championship.

Heading into the 2025/26 season, the Red Dragons will face their toughest challenge yet, with their survival in the second division far from guaranteed.

But that hasn't stop both co-owners from expressing their dreams of reaching the Premier League sometime in the near future, a task that five years ago would seem laughable.

And in order to do so, the Welsh side have been tipped to get financial backing from one of the richest men in the world.

Ahead of their opening match against Southampton on August 9, Wrexham are expected to undergo several big changes within the team.

Several Premier League players have been linked with a move to the Racecourse Ground, while club legend Paul Mullin recently confirmed a loan move to Wigan Athletic.

And in order to fuel the ambition to pursue big names in the market, former Blackburn and Crystal Palace star Matt Jansen has suggested that either Amazon boss Bezos or Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg should join the Wrexham board.

Speaking to Live Casinos, he suggested: "You probably need a Jeff Bezos or a Mark Zuckerberg to help with the finances because the finances of football have gone out of control.

"When you look at Cristiano Ronaldo's wages now, it's just off the scale.

"The money to compete at the top level or for Wrexham to push into that next level would require stupid amounts of money.

"So they might need a type of character like that. They're not short of a bob or two, but they might need to lean on somebody like that."

Which players could Wrexham sign this summer?

Over the summer, Wrexham have been closely linked with several Premier League players, including the likes of Tom Cairney and Jamie Vardy.

But their first signing came from Plymouth Argyle, as forward Ryan Hardie for a report transfer fee of £700,000.

However, it would appear that Reynolds and McElhenney aren't giving up on signing a Premier League star, as a recent report has suggested they are closing in on a deal for Leicester City goalkeeper Danny Ward.

The 32-year-old, who came through the Wrexham's youth team but never made a senior appearances, will reportedly undergo a medical with the Welsh side on Monday, before signing as a free agent following the expiration of his Leicester contract this summer.
