A contingent of Manchester United fans are furious with Jadon Sancho after images emerged of the player in the United States during the international break.

Sancho and his United manager Erik ten Hag have been engaged in a feud after the winger publicly hit back at the Dutchman’s suggestion his performances in training weren't good enough to warrant inclusion in the squad to face Arsenal last weekend.

Writing on X, the social media platform previously known as Twitter, Sancho contradicted Ten Hag adding that he had “been a scapegoat for a long time”.

The 23-year-old has endured an underwhelming first two campaigns at United, since sealing a £73million move from Borussia Dortmund in 2021.

The player’s performances on the pitch have not reached the exceptional standard Sancho set in Germany, while last December the player was also allowed to take a period of time out due to “physical and mental” factors as he contended with injury issues.

Sancho’s loss of form at United has naturally seen him lose his England place.

In turn, during the international break, Sancho has travelled to New York on holiday alongside team-mate Aaron Wan-Bissaka, something some United fans have expressed their displeasure at.

One person said on Twitter: “ETH leaves Sancho at home against Arsenal and calls him out for not performing in training.

“What should Sancho do? He trains extra hard at Carrington during the international break to prove Erik wrong.

“What does Sancho do? He moans about it online and jets off to NYC to party. Couldn't care less that AWB was there too his situation is not the same.”

Another person said: “Should be shipping this guy asap, he ain't worth our damn time. No respect for the club and fans for supporting him.”

However, in defence of Sancho, one fan wrote: “So he's given a few days off (just like every other footballer in the world who is not playing Int) & this is a stick to beat him with? So if he did a video of him training captioned "working hard" you'd be praising him?

“Nope? Didn't think so, you'd be saying it's ‘PR bulls***’”
