Kane showed off his German skills while starring in an Audi advert alongside his Bayern Munich team-mates Thomas Muller and Mathys Tel.

The England skipper can be seen behind the wheel as Muller, in the passenger seat asks: “Harry, where are we going?”

While veering round a corner, Kane emphatically replied, “Umleitung”, which is the German word for ‘detour’.

As Kane manoeuvres through the Bavarian streets, Tel, seated in the back of the Audi Q6 e-tron, appears concerned and asks Muller if Kane is serious.

Muller responds: “Harry, you know 'Umleitung' isn't a place right?”, to which Kane replies: “Thomas, I know. I'm just getting to know my new home.”

Another moment of levity towards the end of the advert sees Muller joke that the next destination is “Einbahnstrasse,” meaning “one-way street.” Kane, on the cusp of laughter, attempts to repeat after the native speaker.

Of course, the 31-year-old should feel at ease behind the vehicle, given he picked out a black Q8 e-tron for himself shortly after signing for Bayern.

The Bavarian giants have a long-term partnership with Audi, who is also a shareholder and owns 8.33 per cent of the club.

As part of the deal, Bayern players and staff receive a company car from the manufacturer in a tradition that's been going on since 2002.

It is expected that the Bayern squad drive to and from their Sabener Strasse training base in an Audi, as well as to matches and other club-related activities.

Bentleys, Bugattis and Porches are also acceptable given they are part of the Volkswagen group.

However, in the past, the likes of Niklas Sule, Jerome Boateng, and Kingsley Coman have failed to adhere to the rule altogether. In March 2021, Bild claimed Coman was facing a £43,500 fine after coming to training in a Mercedes.

The Frenchman was denied entry to the training facility and forced to park his car on the street. It was a repeated offence, with Coman forced to apologise.

He said: "I would like to apologise to the club and Audi for not having come to training in my company car. The reason was a damaged wing mirror on my Audi. Still, that was a mistake, of course, I can see that.

"As a reparation, I will visit the Audi plant in Ingolstadt for an autograph hour as soon as possible and bring some attention to the employees."
