Brits Who Filmed Viral Gary Lineker Video Reveal What Happened Off-Camera

The pair that created the original video have spoken out about their interaction with the England legend.

Two British lads who filmed a video of Gary Lineker walking with a young woman on the streets of Mexico have revealed what really happened off-camera.

On Monday, a video went viral on social media showing Premier League and England legend on holiday in Mexico with a mystery woman.

The clip was quickly shared on social media by far-right activist Tommy Robinson who is regularly critical of Lineker's outspoken political beliefs, asking what the football pundit was doing in the clip.

Lineker later replied to the video, revealing that the woman in the video was his daughter-in-law Bella, and that the pair were walking to a local pharmacy to get medicine for Linker's son, George.

Now, the two Brits that initially filmed the video and posted it online have spoken out to reveal exactly what happened when the camera wasn't on.

During the video, the man behind the camera was heard telling the former Spurs, Leicester and Barcelona striker to 'enjoy his holiday' in Mexico, where Lineker is visiting after being inducted him into the International Football Hall of Fame during a ceremony in Pachuca.

And despite the clear political intentions of Robinson, the video's creators, Alfie and Bradley, have claimed that their interactions with Lineker and his family were nothing but positive.

Speaking to Metro, the 23-year-olds explained that they had just left a bar when they suddenly spotted Lineker, walking with son Harry and his daughter-in-law Bella about two-and-a-half weeks ago.

The pair quickly decided to film their exchange with the former Match of the Day host and post it to their social media.

"I was pretty sure that we’d seen his son, Harry, who I recognised, and his daughter-in-law go by," he recalled.

He added: "We then paid our bill and started walking in the direction that they had gone and then we passed them walking back the other way.

"We’re not obsessed with football, we’re from the Cotswolds and more into rugby and cricket, so we weren’t nervous to talk to him, even though he’s a household name in England."

However, Alfie and Bradley had no idea that Robinson would take their clip and try to use it for to embarrass Lineker.

Bradley added: "In the video we put up the son was at the front, but when the clip went viral he was not there because it had been shortened.

"At first we didn’t know who the young woman was either, but after searching around online we found out she’s the son’s wife.

"Obviously the clip has been used out of context, which is a shame, because we like Gary Lineker, even if his political views are controversial," he said, while adding that the video clip was 'taken without our permission' in a slanderous manner.

They pair have since posted a follow-up video explaining their side of the story, claiming that claims from far-right accounts had, either willfully or unknowingly, ignored the truth of the video.

"The reach on Robinson’s video had 15 million views and ours had 1 million, so very few people are going to see that by comparison," they claimed.
