Gary Lineker has spoken out on social media after a video of him on holiday in Mexico went viral.
Back in November last year, the BBC confirmed that long-standing Match of the Day host Lineker would step down from hosting the flagship football show at the end of the 2024/25 season.
Although Lineker remains the face of the BBC's coverage of this season's FA Cup and will be in charge for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, he has mostly enjoyed a step back from the spotlight.
However, the Premier League legend recently made headlines after a video of him walking with a woman on the streets of Mexico went viral online after it was shared by far-right activist Tommy Robinson.

After seeing the post from Robinson, Lineker has quickly replied to the viral video, explaining exactly what he was doing in a post on social media.

Lineker's decision to leave his post as Match of the Day host came after he accidentally shared an anti-semitic post about zionism which included an illustration of a rat, something which he deeply apologised for.
The BBC said that the post was a 'breach of our guidelines,' leading to Lineker stepping down.

Since then, the 65-year-old has remained outspoken on political matters, drawing attention for those on the far-right, like Robinson, who commented on the video of Lineker on holiday, pointing out that he was walking alongside a young woman.
Sharing the video, Robinson wrote on X: "What are you up to here @GaryLineker?"
But the broadcaster quickly replied to the video, confirming that the woman was his daughter-in-law while claiming that Robinson had 'hatred' towards him.
He wrote: "If you must know, I was going to a chemist with my daughter-in-law, to get some medicine for her unwell husband….my son. Hatred is a dreadful weakness."
The woman in the video, Bella, has been married to Lineker's son Harry since this summer.

His eldest son, George, also replied to Robinson's post, labelling the political figure a 'f***ing idiot' for bringing attention to the clip.
Lineker is currently visiting Mexico for the first time since the 1986 World Cup, where he won the Golden Boot as England infamously crashed out in the quarter finals to Argentina after Diego Maradona's 'Hand of God' goal.
The England legend had been attending a ceremony inducting him into the International Football Hall of Fame in the city of Pachuca.
