Zohran Mamdani has already revealed what he plans to do if he sees Donald Trump at the World Cup final, following his victory in the New York City mayoral race.
Mamdani, 34, who describes himself as a democratic socialist, has made history by becoming the city's first Muslim mayor.
According to CBS, he secured 50.4% of the vote, while independent Andrew Cuomo received 41.6% and Republican Curtis Silwa just 7%.
Mamdani used his victory speech to take aim at the President.

He said: "Since I know you're watching, I have four words for you: turn the volume up."
Since then, the president has taken to Truth Social, writing: "And so it begins."
Given the tense relationship between the incoming mayor and the president, it remains to be seen how it will impact future events.
Next summer, the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, just outside New York City, will host the World Cup Final.

Back in September, Mamdani acknowledged that he may attend the final as major, which would likely mean being seated near Trump.
He told The Guardian: “There’s no amount of censorship that can quiet the actual response of people when they see this president in person, because we’re talking about someone who is already attacking the very fabric of life in this city.
“It’ll be a place where I will make the case once and again for the working-class New Yorkers that they’re leaving behind.”

In the same interview, Mamdani also criticised FIFA's decision to introduce dynamic pricing for ticket sales.
It will be the first time football's governing body has used the model, which is expected to significantly drive up prices.

“I have long been quite troubled by how the supposed stewards of the game have opted for profit time and time again at the expense of the people that love this game,” added Mamdani.

“And I think what is stunning to me is these demands that we are putting forward, they are just demands that go back to what [FIFA] has done in previous World Cups.
"And yet what they are seeing with the World Cup here in the United States, Mexico and Canada is the prospect of increasing their revenues up close to 400% compared to what they were in Qatar.”
According to the BBC, Mamdani was born in Uganda, before moving to New York with his family when he was seven.
He attended the Bronx High School of Science, before earning a degree in Africana Studies from Bowdoin College.

In 2018, he became a naturalised American citizen.
Before moving into politics, Mamdani worked as a housing counsellor and a rapper.
His mayoral campaign focused on issues of affordability and housing.
