Zlatan Ibrahimovic has left Thierry Henry stunned yet again after a brutal violation on Fox's coverage of the United States vs Australia.

The former Barcelona, AC Milan and Manchester United striker is working for the broadcaster for the World Cup in North America and has not toned down his usual style.

Ibrahimovic has been on fine form in his punditry role and appears to have enjoyed going at it with former US international Alex Lalas, who has been described as "one of the most insufferable analysts in American TV sports history".

Viewers in the US have regularly complained about Lalas but are now seemingly enjoying Ibrahimovic putting him in his place.

For the USMNT's win over Lalas was not in the studio alongside Henry, Ibrahimovic and host Rebecca Lowe.

Instead, he was in Seattle with Carli Lloyd, Clint Dempsey and Rob Stone.

In the opening segment, Lowe introduced the pair of footballing icons and then said, "Chaps, Alexi left us!" in referencing to his absence.

Without hesitation, Ibrahimovic cheekily asked, "Who?" in a savage put-down.

When Lowe confirmed that Lalas will be back with the crew, Henry said, "Your plan worked" - hinting that she was behind him moving to a different base for Friday's broadcast.

She refuted any claims of any involvement but then Ibrahimovic proceeded to look at the camera and comment, 'America, you're welcome!'.

Earlier this week, Ibrahimovic laid into former US captain Landon Donovan after he said France were "arrogant" and "casual" in the first half of their 3-1 win against Senegal.

Henry wasn't having any of it and said, 'I just don’t get it'. When Lalas repeated Donovan's words but actually praised France, Ibrahimovic took the opportunity to steal the show with a mic-drop level comment.

He said: "It’s not arrogance, it’s confidence. Ignorant people will say it’s arrogance, intelligent people will say it’s confidence."

Ibrahimovic and Henry have toyed with Lalas in the studio on various occasions and the former Padova defender has also been arguing with fans on social media.

One user was not happy with Lalas referring to the game as 'soccer' instead of 'football, tweeting at him: "Alexi we need to talk about you continuing to call the sport 'soccer' cmon man.

"You could bridge the gap. Even the US players call it 'football' in overseas interviews out of respect."

Lalas was not having it whatsoever though, stressing he will not make the change and explaining his reasoning.

He replied: "Yeah…that’s not gonna happen. I call it soccer. I own it proudly. I never apologize for it. If you grew up calling it soccer and changed out of insecurity or some misguided belief it makes you more authentic/credible…it doesn’t. It’s cringe. It makes you look like a weak poser."
