Thierry Henry was completely shocked after Alexi Lalas labelled James Corden a 'w****r' during his World Cup analysis.

The 2026 World Cup is now well underway as several teams have already completed the first match in the biggest tournament in football.

Given the magnitude of a World Cup, some of the biggest names in sports broadcasting have gathered in North America to cover all of the action.

For the BBC, Kelly Cates, Mark Chapman, Gabby Logan and Alex Scott will lead the coverage with punditry from the likes of Manchester City defender Micah Richards, World Cup winner Olivier Giroud and England and Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney.

At ITV, Mark Pougatch, Laura Woods and Semra Hunter will lead the presenting for the World Cup coverage with Roy Keane, Gary Neville and Ian Wright in the studio alongside former Tottenham Hotspur and Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou, former United and Chelsea star Juan Mata among others.

One name absent from coverage of the World Cup in the UK is and Arsenal icon Henry, who is instead appearing on Fox Sports' coverage in the USA.

On Friday, Henry was joined by presenter Rebecca Lowe and fellow pundits Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alexi Lalas to preview the upcoming matches including Canada's opener against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Toronto.

Ahead of the match, the broadcaster played video package advertising their new show 'FIFA World Cup on FOX After Hours with James Corden,' with the panel then asked for their opinions on the show.

“Can we talk about James Corden for a second?” Lowe asked, unaware of the shocking answer she was about to receive.

Almost immediately Lalas replied, asking: “What do you guys call him? A ... full kit w*****, right?”

While the rest of the panel were completely stunned by the comment, Lalas continued, adding: “He’s all dressed up and ready to go.”

After gathering herself from the shocking moment, Lowe chipped in saying: “Okay, lucky we’re on American TV.”

“Because the W-word on British TV ...”

Lalas' comments came after Corden appeared in a full Team USA training kit as part of the the promo videos for his new World Cup show.

Corden's late night show first aired on Thursday and will run until July 15 with former England captain Rio Ferdinand and comedian Ian Karmel joining him to recap all of the World Cup action each day.
