England secured top spot in the group with their 2-0 victory over Panama with a decent, if not convincing, performance.
Thomas Tuchel’s side struggled to find their rhythm in the first half of the clash, but following the break, they started to take control and in the end deserved the win.
Goals from Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane secured the three points, with the Bayern Munich player claiming the honour of being England’s record goal scorer at the World Cup, as he netted for the 11th time in the competition.
As England progress to the knockout stage of the World Cup, their opponents in the next round will be either Senegal or the DR Congo.
Advert
Jordan Pickford – 6
Called into action on a couple of occasions in the first half but dealt with any questions with ease. A steady performance.
Nico O'Reilly - 6
Another steady performance at the back for the Manchester City star as he offers a threat moving forward for the team.
Marc Guehi - 6
Another steady performance for the Man City star at the heart of the England defence.

Ezri Konsa - 6
Rarely truly tested in this game by the Panama attack and looked more confident compared to his last performance against Ghana.
Jarell Quansah – 4
The Bayer Leverkusen defender struggled throughout the match before being withdrawn through injury. He offered little in the way of attack for the team and was out of position on several occasions, leading to a number of chances for Panama.
Jude Bellingham – 8
England’s best player until his withdrawal from action, as he netted the important opener before providing the assist for the second. Rewarded for his endeavour throughout.
Elliot Anderson - 7
Another good performance for the Man City midfielder, as he drove the team forward and was important in the transition from defence to attack.
Marcus Rashford - 7
Always a threat down the left for England with his direct running and willingness to go at the defence. While not everything worked, he created chances throughout the match.
Morgan Rogers – 6
A solid if unconvincing performance as he replaced Bellingham in this role for the clash as Declan Rice was rested to recover from his knock.

Bukayo Saka – 6
In his first start of the World Cup, the Arsenal star showed what he can offer going forward in flashes but, like most of the England team, struggled to find their rhythm until after the opening goal, which he assisted, but was withdrawn immediately following the celebrations.
Harry Kane – 7
Claimed the record for England’s top scorer at the World Cup with his goal and worked hard for the entirety of his performance, improving in the second half after struggling at times in the first.
Djed Spence (for Quansah) – 6
Looked comfortable in the right back position as he came on to cover another injury in this role. He offered some danger going forward.
Noni Madueke (for Saka) – 5
Showed in flashes what he can offer going forward as he threatened to run in behind the Panama defence on a number of occasions.
Eberechi Eze (for Bellingham) – 5
Struggled to get up to the speed for the game, struggling to create much for his teammates.
Jordan Henderson (for Anderson) – 5
Looked comfortable in the middle of the pitch when he entered the pitch for the final few minutes.
Ollie Watkins (for Kane) – 5
Did not have enough time to make an impact up top for England.
