Duncan Ferguson Apologises to Sky Sports Presenter As Carragher Dig Aimed

Ferguson is the guest pundit for Sky's coverage of Everton vs West Ham.

Duncan Ferguson apologised to Sky Sports presenter David Jones after a hilarious moment on Monday Night Football.

Everton take on West Ham at the Hill Dickinson Stadium from 8pm, with Toffees legend Ferguson serving as the guest pundit in the Sky Sports studio for the match.

During a segment on new West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo ahead of the game, Ferguson and Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher analysed his defensive structures at both Wolves and Nottingham Forest.

Instead of just talking about the Portuguese boss, however, Ferguson decided to add a practical element to his analysis.

The Scot recalled how he completed his UEFA B coaching licence in Scotland alongside Nuno, explaining: "He was a fantastic coach. He was that pernickity on the detail.

"When you were doing your coaching drills, he'd move you around. So say if you were a centre-back and you stepped into position, he'd go, 'You get there. You stand there, son.' He'd do that with every player. Even me!"

To illustrate his point, Ferguson stood behind presenter Jones and moved him to different points of the studio floor.

Carragher couldn't help but laugh at the brief demonstration, with Jones quipping: "That's a lifetime ambition, being thrown around by Duncan Ferguson!"

Ferguson replied: "Sorry about that - I wasn't going anywhere near Jamie because he'd fight me back!"

"Plenty of experience," Carragher admitted.

"Watch his elbows," Jones said of the Liverpool icon. "He doesn't fight fair."

Ferguson has been out of management since October 2024 after departing Scottish side Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

The Scot, who was working on no salary and reportedly made payments out of his own pocket towards other staff members due to the club's financial issues, was sacked after Inverness were placed into administration.

He left Everton in the summer of 2022, having spent time as a first team coach and caretaker manager.

Ferguson managed the Toffees on two separate occasions on a caretaker basis in 2019 and 2022, winning one and drawing three of his five matches in charge.
