Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi simulation proves who would win 100m race between the two GOATs

A YouTuber pitted Cristiano Ronaldo against Lionel Messi to see who would win in a foot race.

A 3D simulation shows who would win in a 100m race between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

At the height of his career, Ronaldo was known for his searing pace, having shown off his speed during his legendary spells at Manchester United and Real Madrid.

During his time in Spain, the 40-year-old once ran 96 meters in 10 seconds while his official FIFA speed is 21mph.

Even though he is the world's fastest man, Usain Bolt, who still owns the 100m world record, doesn't like his chances of racing against Ronaldo.

Asked who would win a race between himself and the Al Nassr superstar, Bolt replied: "Cristiano would win for sure.

"He’s still active and he works hard every day. For me, he’s a super athlete.

"He’s always at the top of his sport. He works very hard and is always focused. I think right now he would be faster than me."

Ronaldo's fierce rival Messi was also a speed merchant at the peak of his powers, but he was probably faster with the ball.

How would he fare against his fellow Ballon d'Or winner? Well, a simulation, created by YouTuber MotionAthlete, pitted Ronaldo against Messi in a 100m race and shows who would win.

The simulation begins with Messi clocking a time of 11.95 seconds.

Ronaldo's attempt follows, registering an impressive 11.15 seconds.

So, per the simulation, the Portuguese comes out on top by almost one second.

Ronaldo might not have the speed he boasted when he was in his 20s, but he is still going strong at the age of 40, having scored 35 goals for Al Nassr last season.

And he inspired Portugal to Nations League glory over Spain, scoring in last Sunday's final.

Messi, 37, is also showing no signs of slowing down as he aims to win the Club World Cup with Inter Miami.
