A former Premier League goalkeeper who played for Chelsea, Bournemouth and Everton has offered himself to Championship newcomers Wrexham.
Wrexham's majority owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have reportedly set aside a budget of £25 million ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, which has sparked plenty of discussion around their summer transfer business.
Phil Parkinson's side continue to be linked with a number of high-profile names, including Tottenham's Ben Davies and Fulham captain Tom Cairney.

Charlie Savage, the son of former Leicester City and Manchester United midfielder Robbie Savage, has also had his name thrown around the rumour mill of late.
And now a far more experienced player has thrown his hat into the mixer. Asmir Begovic, who is currently a free agent after leaving Everton this summer, is certainly keen on a switch to the Racecourse Ground.
"Wrexham is a really interesting project, both on the pitch and everything that comes with it," Begovic told Fruity King.
“I like working with good people and having watched the documentary, the owners seem like amazing guys. That is the sort of club I’d love to work with and the idea of Wrexham really interests me."

Begovic, who made 172 appearances for Stoke between 2010 and 2015, added: “If it’s the right situation for everyone then who knows, it’s an exciting project.”
Championship sides Southampton and Leicester City have made contact with Begovic over a move this summer, according to Football Insider.
But a move to Wrexham is clearly an appealing one for the experienced shot-stopper.
The 38-year-old former Bosnia international also opened up on his current situation. “I’m on the lookout for a new club because I want to keep playing, I still feel amazing and I’ve got plenty left in the tank," he said.

“I’ve been really lucky with injuries and I’ve put a lot of time into looking after my body. I think you just get to a stage of your career when you are thinking about your family and what is best for them. It’s about finding a solution that fits us all.”
Earlier this month, Wrexham made their first transfer announcement of the summer as they confirmed the signing of striker Ryan Hardie from Plymouth Argyle for an undisclosed fee.

Hardie, who has penned a contract until the end of the 2027/28 season, scored 74 goals in 248 games for Argyle following his move from Blackpool in January 2020.
“I’m delighted to get the move done, I’m really happy to get it done so early and I cannot wait to get going," said Hardie, who began his career at Scottish Premiership side Rangers.
“To get a full pre-season will be a massive benefit, to get integrated into the squad and learn the way the manager plays and get to know everyone will be important.
“The last couple of seasons, it’s been good getting experience in the EFL Championship and it’s experience I can lean on now. I’ve enjoyed playing there, and I’ve managed to score a few goals, so hopefully that can continue this season."

He added: “I love how family-oriented the club is, the community is all together and it really is a one-club City. Everything is to do with the football, and I’m really excited to be a part of that – I’ll give everything I’ve got for the badge.”
