Chelsea have reportedly been handed a transfer ban and slapped with a huge fine after breaching Premier League rules.

As reported by The Sun, Chelsea have been hit with a fine of £10.75 million after agreeing a settlement with the Premier League.

It has been claimed that the rule breaches relate to historical transfer dealings.

The report also stated that Chelsea have been handed an immediate nine-month academy transfer ban and a one-year first-time transfer ban, which is suspended for a period of two years.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Blues 'accepted both sanctions which come as a result of the Premier League’s investigation'.

As per Jacobs, a statement from the Premier League said: "Chelsea "has accepted, among other things, that the making of these payments, as well as the failure to disclose them to the League, constituted a breach of the requirement to act in good faith towards the League"."

Jacobs added: "An Independent Commission has handed Chelsea a £10.75 million fine for breaches of the Premier League’s rules relating to Financial Reporting, Third Party Investment and Youth Development under Roman Abramovich."

"t was established that between 2011 and 2018, undisclosed payments by third parties associated with the club were made to players, unregistered agents and other third parties."

SPORTbible has contacted Chelsea Football Club for comment.

In the 25/26 season, Chelsea spent big money to bring in the likes of Joao Pedri, Jamie Gittens, Alejandro Garnacho, Estevao, Jorrel Hato, Liam Delap, Dario Essugo, Mamadou Sarr and Kendry Paez.

Currently, the Blues sit sixth in the Premier League table, one point behind Liverpool.

Chelsea were beaten 1-0 by Newcastle United in their last Premier League outing at Stamford Bridge.

Liam Rosenior's men are back in action on Tuesday night when they take on Paris Saint Germain in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League clash. Chelsea are trailing 5-2 from the first leg.
