Fans have worked out Cole Palmer's three-word message to his Chelsea teammates after seeing Donald Trump during the FIFA Club World Cup trophy presentation.

On Sunday, Premier League giants Chelsea were crowned Club World Cup winners after they got the better of favourites Paris Saint Germain.

A brace from Palmer plus a goal by Joao Pedro were enough to seal a convincing 3-0 win for Enzo Maresca's men inside the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

After the match, during the trophy presentation, the Chelsea players were joined by US President Trump on stage.

The Englishman looked slightly baffled when he saw the US President alongside him as captain Reece James was about to lift the Club World Cup.

One fan said: "Palmer: ‘What’s he doing’."

Another tweeted: "He was surprised as well as confused."

A third fan added: "Lol at Cole “what’s he doing?"."

Someone else wrote: "You can literally see Cole Palmer visibly confused at Trump being there, you can’t make this up."

A fifth commented: "Chelsea trying to celebrate winning the World Cup with Trump in the way is FRYING ME. Cole Palmer: "What’s he doing?"."

What did Cole Palmer say about Donald Trump?

Speaking after the match, Palmer was asked about Trump joining the Chelsea squad on stage.

As reported by The Independent, the 23-year-old said: "I knew he was going to be here but I didn't know he was going to be on the stand when we lifted the trophy.

"I was a bit confused, yeah."

Meanwhile, reacting to the match, Palmer added: "It's a great feeling. Even better because everyone doubted us before the game, we knew that. To put a fight on like we did, it's good.

"The gaffer put a great gameplan out. He knew where the space was going to be. He tried to free me up as much as possible and I just had to repay him and score some goals."
