Chelsea supporters have been left furious after spotting who their top five earners are.

The Blues have endured two transitional seasons under the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital ownership.

Having spent over £1billion on transfer fees, Chelsea has merely managed a 12th-place and 6th-place Premier League finish across the past two campaigns and failed to win any domestic silverware.

A change of transfer strategy from the Roman Abramovich era, alongside the sheer number of incomings and outgoings since the Russian’s departure has left the club with an unbalanced squad, with their highest earners having barely kicked a ball for the Blues across the past two years.

According to Capology, Chelsea’s highest earner is Romelu Lukaku, who brings in some £325,000-a-week at the West London outfit. Of course, the Belgian has spent the past two seasons on loan at Inter and Roma.

Meanwhile, Raheem Sterling is said to also be on £325,000-a-week, despite having struggled for form since signing for Chelsea in the summer of 2022.

Chelsea’s third highest earner is reportedly the injury-prone Reece James on £250,000-a-week, while Ben Chilwell and Wesley Fofana complete the top five, with both defenders allegedly on £200,000-a-week.

And fans on social media were astounded by the state of their earners list.

One person said: “Chelsea's top 5 earners. This is genuinely criminal man.”

A second joked: “So technically we are paying their insurance….”

A third added: “Only 2 of them I can even fathom it ffs.”

A fourth said: “Who tf made the decision to extend Chilwells contract and give him that much.”

A fifth wrote: “The more reason Lukaku and Sterling need to be shipped to Saudi. We can't take this no more.”

Another diplomatically added: “As much as you point out Lukaku, Chelsea haven't paid a single dime to Lukaku in the past 2 years coz his entire salary was covered by the club he was loaned to.

“And last season, he signed a new contract with Chelsea wherein if he stays with Chelsea in future, his wages will be lower.”
