A shock name has emerged as the favourite to replace Mauricio Pochettino as Chelsea manager.

Pochettino issued a brutal takedown of his Chelsea side following the club’s 4-2 defeat to Wolves on Saturday, with his position under increased scrutiny.

The result, which saw the Blues fall to a tenth Premier League defeat of the season, was the second time they have shipped four goals in successive games after Wednesday’s 4-1 humbling at Liverpool.

"I think we are all not good enough, that's the reality," Pochettino said via Sky Sports. "Myself also, as the first person responsible. Of course, what we showed today was that we are not good enough. I agree, 100 per cent.

"We didn't manage the situation properly, and I don't want to come here and say I am the best and the players are the worst - but the players have to take responsibility as I do.

"We are not matching the history of the club. We need to accept it and be critical, but we cannot give up. We have to keep working, try hard to change, take decisions to try to find things in a different way if it's not working in this way and find different solutions."

With Pochettino under mounting pressure at Chelsea, a fresh name has emerged as the bookies' favourite to take his place.

BonusCodeBets, who have provided the latest odds on who could replace the Argentine in the Stamford Bridge dug-out, have listed Girona head coach Michel Sanchez as the early favourite at 6/4. His side are currently sitting two points behind Real Madrid in La Liga.

Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi is second-favourite at 3/1 to replace Pochettino while Jose Mourinho, available after leaving Roman in January, is 4/1 to take over.

Xabi Alonso, who is tipped to be Jurgen Klopp’s successor at Liverpool, is priced at 5/1 to make the move to Stamford Bridge.

Zinedine Zidane is priced at 6/1 and represents another immediate option for Chelsea having been out of work since leaving Real Madrid in May 2021.

Here are the list of favourites:

Michel Sanchez – 6/4

Roberto De Zerbi – 3/1

Jose Mourinho – 4/1

Xabi Alonso – 5/1

Zinedine Zidane – 6/1

Xavi Hernandez – 8/1

Ruben Amorim – 10/1
