Chelsea were omitted from plans to create what was labelled as a British Super League.
Back in April 2021, a proposal for a European Super League was made public, sparking fury from fans around the globe.
In England, clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea were all involved.
European giants such as Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus and AC Milan were also included.

Paris Saint Germain, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund were reportedly invited to join but declined to participate.
However, the plans soon started to fall apart as players and fans showed discontent towards the proposed competition.
Back in 1982, there were plans for a British Super League, which included 13 teams from England and Scotland.
As per the BBC, the chosen clubs were: Liverpool, Everton, Arsenal, Leeds United, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Manchester City, Newcastle United, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, West Ham United, Celtic and Rangers.

It is believed that the plans were put together in order to get Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers to face off against England's best teams.
Over the years, fans have often wondered whether Scottish powerhouses Celtic and Rangers could be competitive in the Premier League.
The proposed British Super League would have seen them take on some of the Premier League's best teams.
Back in 2024, St Johnstone manager Craig Levein expressed his wish to see the Old Firm playing in the Premier League.

He said: "I will come back to my base camp, I would love to see the Old Firm playing in the English Premier League.
"They would be able to afford to pay £50m each per season to the rest of Scottish football and then I would support Celtic and Rangers playing in the English Premier League."
Levein added: "But will it ever happen? I don’t think so."
